Background
Hyndberry was set up in the autumn of 2008 by Catriona Staddon, original chef/proprietor of the highly acclaimed Linlithgow restaurant - Marynka. Setting up and running the restaurant was the fulfillment of a life-long ambition for Catriona. But after eight years of long restaurant hours it was time for a new challenge. This had to combine her passion for fine seasonal Scottish produce with sharing the pleasure of cooking and eating these wonderful ingredients. And so Hyndberry was created...The aims of the business are simple - to take the best local ingredients and cook to order for private functions and business events, to teach cooking skills, and to give excellent customer service. Based fifteen miles west of Edinburgh, the company provides its services throughout Edinburgh, the Lothians, and central/southern Scotland. Have a look at some of our testimonials.
Our company name, Hyndberry, is an old Scots word for raspberry - so named, apparently, because the deer love to eat them. We chose the name to show our appreciation of what is arguably the epitome of Scottish seasonal produce!
